Textile Institute of Pakistan

The Textile Institute of Pakistan (TIP) was an important undertaking for ASA. As textiles is Pakistan’s largest industrial sector and provides 38 percent of employment, the workforce needed to be better skilled and educated. TIP is spread across 55 acres and is located on the National Highway some 40 kilometers from the Karachi city center. The institute buildings cover approximately 293,000 square feet. There are boarding amenities for the students since the campus is far from the city. To offset the land’s barren and dusty look, it was important to design this sensitively to make it comfortable and inviting for the students and faculty. Large waterbodies were designed, and fruit trees were planted abundantly. Long-lasting materials were used.
